Finally New Pictures - All Grown Up!

I finally took some current, adult pictures of Mercury. Since my camera has been on the fritz for a while, I took some shots when I rented a camera for a dog show. In fact, I took pictures of all the dogs and Mercury while at one of the shows. The afternoon sun going down after the show was irresitible. And Mercury finally got to see his first horse. His expression was of sheer shock. "What the hell is that?" Here are the pictures. Here he is one year old recently taken in Sloughhouse, April 5, 2009.

First Kitten Picture

This picture is what was sent to me when I responded to an ad for kittens in Craigslist.

January 29, 2009

These pictures were taken just a few days after I got Mercury in July 2008. He was about four months old. He is my first cat. I initially got Mercury because I needed a cat to help me train Dino for his MAR dog training. I wanted to make sure that Dino was totally comfortable around cats.
I have trained Mercury to walk on a harness and a leash. Initially, of course, he wasn't too thrilled, but eventually I got him to walk down the street using a clicker and canned food as his reward for moving a few steps at a time.
He has turned into a great cat and he loves the dogs. Very big. At one year old he is seventeen pounds. He and Dino play all the time and he loves to sleep with Scout. Dot is still trying to figure him out, and has slowly stopped snarling at him with my encouragement
He was recently diagnosed with urinary tract disease, so he will be on a special diet for the rest of his life. $$$$$$$$! Life moves on. I need to take more adult pictures of him. His coat has filled out a lot.
